Apparently I can't count...

And by that I mean that while I can certainly count from 1 to at least a quadrillion, I certainly can't seem to count my calories.

Why is it so hard?  I mean, all I have to do is a quick search on MyFitnessPal (user: sugar4becky if you wanna add me) and there are the foods and their respective calorie contents.  It's a quick add.  However, I apparently can't even do that.  Why not?  Because I already know the answer!

Years of off-and-on again counting have left me with a good estimator when it comes to calorie content.  I don't count all my calories because I know they add up to no good.  Why is it that our female bodies only need about 1400-1800 calories per day to function and maintain, when I swear it takes a good 2000+ calories to make me feel full.

These are the things that are frustrating about trying to lose weight...

If at first you don't succeed, try and try again...

  1. It's hard adjusting but you get used to it after awhile. The nice think about MFP is that I always have it with me. I can look foods up when I'm out and try to make better choices.

  2. And as I get older it gets harder and harder. They told me that when I was 20s, 30s...and I didn't believe them. I said it's a lack of exercise. Well, now I know that it's not via a lack of exercise because I exercise every.stinking.day and I've still gained weight. Being female and getting older stinks big sometimes.

  3. okay. guess blogger hated me and didnt want to post my comment. boo. basically i just said that i can relate to everything you are saying. when i first started losing weight there was a good 2-3 months that i did so well calorie wise. then i suddenly just felt like i had a pass to get away with eating anything i wanted. boo. time to get back on track. i am with you! maybe i need to look into myfitnesspal??

  4. Not sure what this has to do with being female? I think its age and marriage. I am the not so proud owner of about 50lbs since I got married.... Ugh

  5. It's funny. If we were cars we'd be proud that we were so energy efficient. It simply takes less fuel to keep us going. Somehow that kind of energy efficiency doesn't make me happy.
