Fightin' Mad

I do not know what is going on with my immune system lately, but it is DEFINITELY losing the battle to germs.  I've been sick THREE times in the last six weeks.  What the heck is up with that?  I had laryngitis for a week, then was better for a week, then got the stomach flu, and now I have an awesome sinus infection.  What in the world?  I never use sick days and this year I am already out of them!  I also have had pneumonia this year as well as some freakishly high fevers.  What is going on?!?

The Hubster sent me an article a few days ago that said that people who work out get sick less and the sicknesses aren't as bad.  I think they should've included me in that study!  The healthier I've eaten and the more active I've been, the sicker I get!  And it is good to note that I also take a multivitamin and I wash my hands frequently.  :)  So, hopefully this is just a fluke year.  Is anyone else getting sick more this year than any other years?  I'm curious if I'm alone in this!

Either way, training is on the back burner while I get better.  There is no way I am going to run out in the freezing cold when my throat already hurts as bad as it does!

  1. I was sick once just about a month ago. I had a few close calls but manage to get rid off the sickies before it got worse.

Feel better soon! And I am off to do the post you tagged me in! ;)

  2. Yep! A cold, 2 flus, and my back is on its way out for the 2nd time since September. Last year, I didn't use any of my sick days the last school year, this year - already done. As far as training, I need to log 66 miles by the end of the year to reach my goal of 210 since July. During Christmas break- I might be logging some serious milage. =o]
Hope you feel better soon and take care of yourself.

  3. I have really noticed that the more fit and active I am, the less sick I get.
